Join the Say It Loud! Readers and Writers Series at various venues in Little Rock, Arkansas during the week of the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library opening. Say It Loud! and other organizations will host several events to promote the Black literary tradition. Discussions, readings and signings are scheduled throughout the community. Youth are highly encouraged to attend each event. Books will available for purchase at each event

Toni Asante Lightfoot Writing Our Story in Rhythm and Rhyme

Ms. Lightfoot is a performance poet presently residing in Chicago. IL. Ms. Lightfoot teaches creative writing with various youth organizations in the Chicago area. Ms. She was the voice of the first deaf poet on Def Poetry Jam and is featured on CD’s The Joint and Blackout Boston: 2001. Her work in anthologies such as Role Call: A Generational Anthology of Social & Political Black Literature and Art (Third World Press), 360° A Revolution of Poetry (BlackWords, Inc.), Beyond the Frontier: African American Poetry for the 21st Century (Black Classic Press). She is currently working on a one-woman show and her first full-length book of poetry both under the working title of A Buttercup's Blues.
