Mission Statement

The mission of the Neighborhood Resource Center is to build capacity within Little Rock Neighborhood Associations, Community Based Organizations, and small not-for-profit organizations. By facilitating partnerships with appropriate resources and forging collaborations among local government, businesses, universities, not-for-profit agencies, small businesses and community residents, the Neighborhood Resource Center will contribute to building a stronger community. The Center will study issues, develop problem-solving strategies, and test new, creative solutions proposed by residents of Little Rock. The Center is a problem-solving center for the citizens of Little Rock.

Designs, implements, and monitors programs and activities that facilitate economic development by helping to create, sustain, and expand the number of successful small, minority-owned and women-owned businesses.
Small Business Incubator - This economic development tool accelerates the growth and success of the business by providing resources and services such as accounting, marketing, financial management, and personnel management.
Entrepreneurial Training - This twelve-week program helps to minimize the risks associated with starting and operating a small business. Participants complete a business plan.
River Market Capital Enhancement - This program assists current or potential River Market vendors to acquire capital improvements to enhance the productivity and quality of vendors located in the River Market food pavilion.
Proactive Procurement and Contract Outreach - This is an educational and outreach activity designed to increase the number of small, minority-owned women-owned businesses that are doing business with the City of Little Rock.

Housing Program

Working with local lending institutions, BCD’s housing program helps provide decent, affordable housing to people with low or moderate incomes. BCD believes that neighborhoods are the strength and vitality of a community. Therefore, BCD endeavors to stabilize and revitalize the Midtown community.
 
Community Computer Center

This center offers up to twelve (12) computers for public use to access the internet, do research, write resumes, papers and assist students in homework assignments.
