Detective Sgt. George W. Moore
At 7:40 a.m. on July 24th, 1924, Detective Sgt. Moore and Sgt. Hay were working on information of a dice game and other illegal activities at 1005 Chester, home of Authur (Rube) Waddell, operator of S&S Taxi Company. As they were approaching the house they were shot without warning by Emory C. Connell, white male alias Arthur C. Lang and Loe Sullivan, white male alias Joe Shaw. Both men were wanted for numerous crimes. Connell was wanted for the murder of an Oklahoma police officer. Connell apparently shot Sgt. Moore three times at point blank range striking Sgt. Moore in the head killing him.
Sgt. Hay was shot six times and taken to the city hospital where his condition worsened and died two days later
