Detective Joseph Tucker Fisher

 

     Detective Fisher was shot and killed on February 7, 1995, while serving a search warrant for drugs at a southwest Little Rock apartment complex on Butler Road. As Detective Fisher, along with other detectives, entered the apartment the occupant began shooting at the officers. Detective Fisher was struck in the upper shoulder by a .38 caliber round. The bullet went under his protective vest and angled down killing him. Detective Fred Lee was also shot in the head but fully recovered from his injuries.

     Other officers shot the suspect, Willie Green, a black male, in the leg. He was charged with Capitol Murder and Attempted Capitol Murder along with multiple drug charges as drugs were found in the apartment.

     Detective Fisher was an eleven-year veteran of the Little Rock Police Department. Detective Fisher joined the department on November 28, 1983. He was 34 years old and had two daughters by a previous marriage.
