Mission Statement
Fleet Services provides customer city departments with the most reliable cost-effective vehicle equipment support possible.


Administration

Office Hours

Administration Division of fleet services is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Services Offered
Fleet Services is responsible for management of all vehicles and motorized equipment in the City's fleet. The fleet includes 1,100 pieces of equipment, which are purchased, fueled, maintained and finally disposed of by Fleet Services Department. The department operates four vehicle maintenance facilities and 11 automated card access sites that are available around the clock.

Loaner vehicles for units down, courtesy vehicles for use by Customer Departments, fueling services, and maintenance for City vehicles are services offered by Fleet Services.

Rental vehicles are available to city departments for short-term and seasonal needs.

Operations

Hours of Operation

The Maintenance Division provides services from 6 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Preventive maintenance schedules have been revised and procedures improved to reduce breakdowns and extend anticipated useful life of the equipment. The Operations Division provides preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance at the following locations:

  • J.E. Davis Drive: Diesel, gasoline, fire apparatus, police light duty, heavy truck, construction equipment.

  • McKinley Street (University Mall): Light duty vehicles, and police cruisers.

  • Boyle Park: Small engine repair, and park maintenance equipment.

  • Rebsamen Park: Mowing and park maintenance equipment.
    Major repairs on light to medium duty vehicles are performed at J.E. Davis Drive or are contracted. Major repairs on small engines are performed at Boyle Park.

Acquisition
The complete Acquisition and Disposal Process is directed and monitored from J.E. Davis Drive.

Fleet Size and Diversity
The City of Little Rock's fleet consists of 1075 Units. Fleet Units include, but are not limited to, administrative pickups and sedans, Fire Department apparatus and vehicles, Police vehicles of various assortments, Parks and Recreation vehicles and equipment, Public Works vehicles and equipment.

Fueling Services


Fueling Sites
The Fleet Services Fueling Program includes 13 automated fuel sites of which 4 are open 24 hours seven (7) days a week. The sites are as follows with asterisks indicating which units are open 24 hours. Fuel is activated by use of two fueling cards; one for the employee and one for the vehicle.

Contract Fueling Program
The City currently furnishes fuel on a contract basis to the following governmental agencies.

  • U.S. Marshall's office
  • Little Rock Visitors and Convention Bureau
  • Little Rock Housing Authority


We welcome all other governmental agencies to take advantage of the City's fueling facilities at pricing well below retail arrangements. For more information call 501-918-4200.

Alternative Fuels Program
A limited number of alternative fuel vehicles are being introduced to the fleet for evaluation and support of the Clean Cities Initiative.


Contracted Services

  • Automatic Transmission Rebuild
  • Body Repairs
  • Copier Services - Fleet Services only.
  • Underground Storage Tanks and Line Test Required annually by EPA.
  • Uniform Services - Fleet Services employee uniforms.
  • Janitorial Services - Maintenance of floors (only) at Fleet Services.
  • Fuel Dispensing Equipment Maintenance and Repair - Annual maintenance contract for dispensing fuel.
