The Historic District Commission was created by Arkansas Code Annotated 14-172-206 - Little Rock City Code, Section 23-96,97. Each of the commission's five members serve three-year terms. The duties of the commission are to preserve and protect sites and structures of historic and architectural interest and significance; to encourage private efforts to restore such sites, buildings, structures and their surroundings.
The Historic District Commission meets the first Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Sister Cities Conference Room at City Hall.

Housing Board of Adjustment
and Appeals
The Housing Board of Adjustment and Appeals was created by Little Rock City Code, Section, 8-376, 377. Each of the board's five members serve four-year terms. The Board hears appeals of citizens affected by the Housing Code, reviews proposed requests for variance and determines the acceptability of variances from requirements set forth by the Little Rock Housing code. Members are appointed by the Little Rock Board of Directors.

Housing Authority Board of Commissioners
The Little Rock Housing Authority Board of Commissioners was created by Resolution No.1,532 (Oct 5,1940). Each of the commission's five members serve five-year terms. The role of the Housing Authority is to provide the minimum housing needs (decent, safe and sanitary) of low-income families through public housing and the Section 8 Rental Assistance Payments Program.
The Little Rock Housing Authority Board meets the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in the Housing Authority Administrative Office, 1000 Wolfe Street.

MacArthur
Military History Museum Commission
The MacArthur Military History Museum Commission was created by Ordinance No. 16,800. Each of the Commission's twenty-three members serve two-year terms. The duties of the Commission are to develop a mission statement for the museum; to annually review the needs of programs that enhance awareness of the military history of the City and State; to initiate, sponsor or conduct with other public/private agencies, public awareness programs to further the consciousness of the City's and State's military heritage. Members are appointed by the Little Rock Board of Directors. The Commission must always include at least two military veterans on active duty, honorably discharged or retired from the service.
The commission meets the second Thursday of odd-numbered months at 4:00 p.m. in the Arsenal building in MacArthur Park at 503 E. 9th Street.

Municipal Airport Commission
The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission was created by Arkansas Code Annotated 14-359-101 et. seq. - Little Rock City Code,Sec. 7-26 & 27. Its five members serve five-year terms. The duties of the commission are to manage, operate, extend and maintain the Little Rock National Airport, related properties and facilities and adopt such rules and regulations as deemed necessary. Members of the commission are appointed by the Little Rock Board of Directors. The five members must be qualified electors of the municipality with at least one of the members being experienced in aviation, holding some type of pilot aeronautical rating.
