ARSON
STONE CONTAINER CORPORATION

Shortly before midnight on September 9, 2000, a fire started in the front office complex of the Stone Container Corporation at 6101 Patterson Road in Little Rock. The Little Rock Fire Marshall's Office investigated the fire and determined that the fire was set in the plant superintendent's office with gasoline.
This fire resulted in a $2.5 million loss to the company. The Little Rock Fire Marshall's Office, the Little Rock Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms are investigating this fire. The Smurfit-Stone Corporation is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the federal arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the arson.
