Individual
Robberies
Several individuals
have been taken at gunpoint to area ATM's. The victims are usually
going to their cars when an unknown masked black male approaches them
and forces them into their own vehicle. The suspect then orders the
victim to drive to different ATM's and withdraw money. The suspect
then has the victim drop him off on the road somewhere. The suspect
is a slim build black male. Some things you can do to protect yourself
from this type of crime is be alert while walking to your car, if
you suspect your are being followed go into a nearby business, if
you see or feel something is suspicious error on the side of caution
and don't continue to your car. This type of criminal uses the element
of surprise. Your not going to see everything but if you give the
appearance that you are looking around and being alert the bad guy
loses the surprise element and this may discourage his attempt.
