Nighttime Safety

Virtually all activities in life entail some level of risks, and we all have different attitudes toward those risks.  We can chose to refuse to engage in an activity by exaggerating the level of risk involved or engage in very risky activities while refusing to take any precautions.  We should accurately assess the risks, take precautions that make sense and live as fully as possible.  Some tips for staying safe at night.    Be very careful when using outside ATMs at night or in unfamiliar surroundings, walk in the middle of the sidewalk and walk facing oncoming traffic, try not to overload yourself with packages or other items, if you wear a purse with a shoulder strap, be prepared to let it go if snatched, carry your purse close to you body preferably in front, carry no more money or credit cards than you absolutely need, carry a second wallet so that if confronted by a robber you can give him the second wallet.
