The Chief of Police has the ultimate responsibility within the
Police Department for the protection of life and property, preservation of law and order,
investigation and suppression of all crimes and the enforcement of State Laws and City
Ordinances.
Responsible to the City Manager for day to day management and
operation of the department.
Development of department programs and enforcement strategies.
Administering the overall budgetary activities and fiscal affairs of
the department.
The Assistant Chiefs of Police
Assistant Chief of Police - Police Operations Bureau supervises the
Downtown Patrol Division, the Northwest Patrol Division, the Southwest Patrol Division and
the Special Operations Division which, collectively, comprise the Police Operations
Bureau.
Assistant Chief of Police - Police Special Services Bureau
supervises the Special Investigations Division, the Detective Division, the Training and
Crime Prevention Division and the Support Services Division, which, collectively, comprise
the Police Special Services Bureau.
