The Administration Division is comprised of the Office of Public Information (including the Public Information Officer and the "Crime Stoppers" Program), Management Research (including the Research and Development Unit, Crime Analysis Unit and Computer Information Services) and Internal Affairs. The division is commanded by a Captain who reports directly to the Chief of Police.

The Administration Division Commander is responsible for supervising and directing the below listed units:

The Public Information Officer (Lieutenant) is responsible for:

The Management Research Section Lieutenant is responsible for the supervision and management of the following units:

  1. Maintains Departmental Orders, and assists Staff in the research, development and preparation of new Orders;
  2. Provides Staff technical and research assistance;
  3. Maintains officer Transfer and Assignment requests; and
  4. Provides liaison with the Office of Management Support and the Office of Emergency Services.
  1. Performs and provides assistance in the analysis of reported crimes;
  2. Provides statistical crime patterns and maps to various Departmental units and public organizations; and
  3. Provides statistical information to Department staff for review and evaluation of operations.
  1. Maintains liaison with the City Office of Management Support;
  2. Provides technical assistance and training on Departmental computer systems; and
  3. Ensures Departmental compliance with ACIC, NCIC, and UCR requirements.

The Internal Affairs Unit:
