JOB TITLE: Pro Manager (Golf)
MAINTENANCE REVIEW DATE: April 1994

JOB OBJECTIVE: To operate the City of Little Rock's Golf
facility including the Golf Pro Shop and Clubhouse Center; to promote golf
activities by conducting tournaments, clinics, and private lessons.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives general supervision from the
Parks Enterprises Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Directs the operation of a golf
facility including Golf Pro Shop and Clubhouse, and conducts golf clinics in
accordance with established standards and procedures.
2. Plans, schedules, promotes, and manages
golf tournaments.
3. Reviews records of fees received for
use of golf facility, equipment, and sale of golf supplies to ensure revenues
collected balance with receipts issued and cash reported.
4. Maintains an inventory of golf
merchandise and equipment for sale or rental to members of the public; sells
alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing, and golf supplies; operates a
cash register.
5. Collects and deposits fees for the use
of golf facility; forwards appropriate monthly rental fees and sales revenue to
the City Collector's Office.
6. Maintains records of fees collected and
deposited.
7. Conducts golf lessons on an individual
basis for members of the public, or employs contractual employees to conduct
lessons.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Notifies local media of special
promotional events for advertisement.
2. Conducts inspections of the golf
course, Clubhouse and equipment to identify needed repairs; ensures repairs and
maintenance tasks are completed and notifies supervisor of major repairs.
3. Directs the repair and maintenance of a
fleet of golf carts to ensure efficient operations.
4. Prepares tentative annual maintenance
and improvement budget figures for golf facility.

5. Provides assistance to the Golf Course
Superintendent and Foreman I - Golf in the development and implementation of
maintenance programs for quality turf conditions and facilities.
6. Provides information on golfing rules
and practices to the general public.
7. Performs other related duties as
required.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides general supervision to a Pro Assistant
(Golf), and immediate supervision to Clubhouse Center Attendant and
part-time workers.

Comprehensive knowledge of the rules
and procedures of the game of golf.
Considerable knowledge of the
maintenance requirements of golf courses.
Good knowledge of bookkeeping
procedures.
Some knowledge of budget processes.
Skill in the use, maintenance, and repair of
golf equipment.
Skill in the operation of a cash register.
Ability to provide instructions in the rules and
skills involved in the game of golf to persons of various skill levels.
Ability to schedule the use of golf clubhouse,
or other facilities by individuals and groups.
Ability to collect and count large sums of
money.
Ability to direct the activities of assigned
personnel.

Ability to communicate effectively.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Completion of high school, including or supplemented by
courses in bookkeeping; at least four (4) years of experience with the
game of golf; at least one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience
and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Must be 21 years of age to meet State of Arkansas
requirement for selling alcoholic beverages.
