JOB TITLE: Pro Assistant (Golf)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To provide golf instruction to individuals
and groups and to assist the Pro Manager in the operation of a City golf
course.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives general supervision from the
Pro Manager (Golf).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates a cash register; records fees
received for use of golf course facilities and equipment.
2. Monitors activities of persons using
golf course facilities to ensure that golf rules are followed.
3. Serves as backup in the absence of the
Pro Manager (Golf).
4. Sells golf supplies, alcoholic and
non-alcoholic beverages, and equipment.
5. Prepares promotional materials,
receives green fees, assigns golf carts, and performs other duties related to
golf tournaments and special events.
6. Stores and recharges batteries from
golf carts; performs minor maintenance on golf carts.
7. Conducts golf lessons on an individual
basis.
8. Assigns and directs the work activities
of part-time employees.
9. Reconciles daily receipts by totaling
all checks and cash received; rechecks tickets and drawer totals until all
totals balance; prepares and makes bank deposits.
10. Compiles numerical data and prepares
daily revenue reports, listing the amount of sales and fees collected.
11. Reserves tee times for use; maintains
calendars and reservation forms; collects fees.
12. Answers questions and provides
information to persons calling or visiting the golf course; receives complaint
calls and handles as appropriate.
13. Opens and closes facilities as required.
14. Provides information and answers
questions for persons playing in tournaments and leagues; collects registration
fees; completes tournament and league paperwork and directs tournaments and
leagues.

performance of essential job functions.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Repairs and adjusts golf equipment for
customers.
2. Notifies supervisor of supplies,
equipment, and maintenance needed at the golf course.
3. Provides assistance in developing and
administering junior golf clinics.
4. Prepares facilities for special events,
such as tournaments and leagues; orders and places signage; purchases required
supplies; secures additional facilities; recruits and assigns work activities
of volunteers.
5. Performs other related duties as
required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of the rules
and principles of the game of golf.
Skill in the use of an adding machine,
calculator, or cash register.
Skill in the game of golf.
Skill in the repair and maintenance of golf
equipment.
Skill in the operation of an automatic
transmission automobile.
Ability to instruct persons in the rules of golf
and the use of golf equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to maintain simple records.
Ability to prepare tournament promotional
material.
Ability to prepare simple reports from records.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Completion of high school; at least two
(2) years of experience in the game of golf; at least one (1) year of
experience as a cashier; at least one(1) year of leadership experience;
OR any equivalent combination of
experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and
abilities.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years of age to meet State of Arkansas
requirement for selling alcoholic beverages.
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial
Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the
duration of employment in this position.
