JOB TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker – Senior
(Parks and Recreation
– Park Maintenance – Grounds)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To operate grounds maintenance equipment and
perform maintenance activities at Parks and Recreation Department facilities.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from
Parks Maintenance and Development Foreman or Leader - Parks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates hand and tractor-mounted
mowers and hand-held string trimmers to cut grass in areas around Department
facilities; performs minor preventive maintenance on tractors and mowers;
sharpens and replaces blades on mowers.
2. Operates chain saw to cut trees and
brush.
3. Mixes and applies chemical agents,
including fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and pesticides.
4. Cleans rest rooms and picks up debris.
5. Repairs and paints park benches and
trash barrels; performs minor building and plumbing maintenance.
6. Operates light earth-moving equipment,
including small backhoe, Bobcat, and front-end loader, as required for
maintenance and development projects.
7. Operates light and medium duty trucks
with trailers to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to work sites,
Department facilities, and dumping areas.
8. Provides working supervision to Parks
Maintenance Workers and part-time employees.
9. Operates garbage truck to pick up trash
and haul to City landfill.
10. Reports Department facility equipment and
buildings needing repair to the supervisor.
