JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker - Senior (Golf Course Grounds)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform activities required for the
maintenance of plant materials and equipment at City golf courses.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from
the Foreman I (Golf Course).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates tractor mounted mowing
equipment and push mowers to cut grass on the golf course and around the golf
course facilities.
2. Mixes and applies fertilizers,
pesticides, herbicides and fungicides.
3. Turns the sprinkler system on and off;
sets sprinkler timer for each green; performs maintenance and repair on
sprinkler heads.
4. Sods and aerates green and tee areas
requiring new ground cover; top-dresses greens and tees by operating
top-dressing equipment to apply sand.
SECONDARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sharpens and changes blades on mowing
equipment; performs minor preventive maintenance on mowing equipment.
2. Provides direct working supervision to
Parks Maintenance Workers and part-time employees.
3. Operates a light duty truck to pick up
needed equipment and supplies.
4. Performs equipment and building
maintenance during inclement weather.
5. Performs other related duties as
required.
