JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker (Grounds)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform grounds maintenance activities at
City parks.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from the
Parks Maintenance and Development Foreman.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates tractor mounted mowing
equipment to cut grass and other hand and power tools such as push mower,
edger, line trimmer, blowers, etc., to perform lawn and grounds maintenance
duties.
2. Operates trucks and trailers to move
equipment or materials.
2. Checks fuel, oil and other fluids
before operating equipment.
3. Operates a hand sprayer to apply
herbicides and other chemicals.
4. Performs minor repair on equipment,
such as replacing blades, belts and filters.
5. Operates chain saw to remove trees from
park areas.
6. Cleans grounds, buildings and rest
rooms in parks.
7. Builds and repairs park equipment, such
as picnic tables.
