JOB TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker (Grounds
Improvement)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform maintenance and construction work
at City parks and recreation facilities.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from
the Parks Maintenance and Development Foreman.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs carpentry and other
semiskilled labor in maintaining and constructing buildings, roads, and
drainage systems at Parks and Recreation facilities.
2. Operates hand tools and light
earth-moving equipment to dig trenches for utility lines, building foundations,
concrete walkways and drainage systems.
3. Performs landscaping duties such as
moving and spreading dirt, sodding bare areas, and cutting and removing trees.
4. Operates light and medium duty trucks
to move equipment, construction materials and debris.
5. Builds forms for concrete work;
operates cement mixer to prepare concrete; pours and finishes concrete
surfaces.
SECONDARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Checks oil and other fluids before
operating equipment.
2. Assembles and installs irrigation and
drainage pipe.
3. Completes daily time record.
4. Performs other related duties as
required.
