JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Parks Maintenance Worker (Building
Maintenance)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform repair, maintenance and
construction work on buildings at City parks and recreation facilities.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from
the Building Maintenance Foreman.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs carpentry and other
semiskilled labor in repairing, constructing and maintaining buildings and
equipment at Parks and Recreation facilities.
2. Prepares surfaces and applies paint,
varnish and other protective materials; utilizes power sandblaster to remove
graffiti or prepare surfaces.
3. Operates hand tools or light earth
moving equipment to dig trenches for utility lines, etc..
4. Builds forms for pouring concrete;
operates cement mixer to prepare concrete; finishes concrete surfaces.
SECONDARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works with various skilled craftsmen in
assembling and installing pipe and wiring for utility service.
2. Installs and maintains playground
equipment.
3. Repairs and installs equipment at
special events, such as tents and stages and at seasonal use facilities and
structures, such as swimming pools and ball fields.
4. Completes daily record of work
completed.
5. Performs other related duties as
required.
