Parking Enforcement Technician

JOB OBJECTIVE:
To enforce the parking regulations for the City of Little Rock for timed
and metered parking areas by patrol and issuing of parking tickets for
violations.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Receives general supervision from the Parking Enforcement
Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Patrols assigned districts on foot or
in meter enforcement vehicle to inspect for vehicular compliance with parking
regulations.
2. Enters make, model, location, and type
of parking violation into electronic ticket writer; prints out ticket and
places on vehicle.
3. Answers questions and interprets
parking regulations for the public in the field.
4. Notifies supervisor by radio of repeat
parking regulation violators.
5. Testifies in court concerning traffic
tickets issued.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Logs on the electronic ticket writer by
entering employee number; ensures date and time are correct.
2. Places electronic ticket writer into
charger at the end of work shift.
3. Performs other related duties as
required.

DUTIES: Performs work of moderate difficulty
in the inspection of parked vehicles for compliance with metered or timed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of the City of Little Rock parking
regulations.
Good knowledge of streets and locations within the City
of Little Rock metered area.
Considerable knowledge of the parking sign regulations within
the City of Little Rock.
Ability to communicate tactfully and
effectively.
Ability to walk for extended periods of time up
to the majority of the length of a work shift.
Ability to operate a meter enforcement vehicle.
Ability to read and interpret traffic
ordinances.
Skill in the operation of an electronic ticket
writer.
Skill in the operation of two-way
communication equipment.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE
AND TRAINING:
Completion of high school;
at least one (1) year of work experience with inspection, building
security or a related field; OR any
equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required
knowledge, skills, and abilities.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess a valid Arkansas
Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and
maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
