JOB TITLE: Office Assistant III (Fleet Services – Impound Services)

JOB
OBJECTIVE: To provide clerical support to the Impound
Services Section of Fleet Services.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives general supervision from the Impound Services
Manager.
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Types
correspondence, reports and special materials for the Impound Services Section.
2. Answers
the telephone and routes callers to appropriate staff.
3. Receives
complaint calls and handles as appropriate; researches information and responds
to customer complaints.
4. Operates
a computer terminal and microcomputer utilizing database, desktop publishing,
spreadsheet, and word processing software.
5. Maintains
hard copy and computer filing and record-keeping systems.
6. Reconciles
daily receipts by printing mainframe report and checking against cash on hand
until totals balance; prepares and makes bank deposits.
7. Verifies
daily transactions; prepares and inputs credit memos as approved by supervisor.
8. Contacts
Department of Finance and Administration to exchange registered owner
information.
9. Compiles
narrative and statistical data for daily, weekly, and monthly operational
reports.
10. Prepares
time sheets for Impound Services Section.
11. Assists
the Impound Supervisor in compiling budget data; conducts budgetary research;
enters budget data into a microcomputer.
12. Serves as backup to the Impound Supervisor by representing the Section at meetings and by assigning and directing the activities of Impound Services employees.
13. Operates
a City pool automobile in the performance of essential job functions.
