JOB TITLE:  Office Assistant II (Zoo)

 

MAINTENANCE REVIEW DATE:  March 1999

JOB OBJECTIVE:  To provide clerical support to the City of Little Rock Zoo in the preparation of correspondence, memoranda, and reports, and in the processing of invoices.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Receives general supervision from the Director of the Zoo.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1.                  Types correspondence, memoranda and reports from rough draft.

 

2.         Operates a microcomputer utilizing database, spreadsheet, and word processing software; prints standard reports, such as admission reports.

 

3.         Enters information from invoices into database; prepares purchase requisitions for equipment, supplies, and services; forwards to supervisor for approval.

 

4.         Assists in the maintenance of the Zoo library; records information relating to new materials; issues materials to Zoo employees; compiles inventory lists and overdue lists.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Answers questions and provides information regarding Zoo hours, admission prices, special events, and Zoo location to persons calling and visiting the Zoo.

 

2.         Serves as backup to the Office Assistant I by serving as receptionist and by providing clerical support to maintenance personnel.

 

3.         Sorts, files, and retrieves hard copies of documents according to alphabetic filing system.

 

4.         Makes photocopies of correspondence and other printed material, using a photocopying machine; receives and send facsimile copies, using facsimile machine.

 

5.         Performs other related duties as required.
