JOB TITLE: Laborer (Zoo)
MAINTENANCE REVIEW DATE: February 1998

JOB OBJECTIVE: To perform routine manual labor in
maintaining the grounds and buildings at the Little Rock Zoo.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives immediate supervision from
the Zoo Maintenance Foreman.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates hand tools to trim shrubs, cut
grass, clean sidewalks and remove debris from moats around animal enclosures.
2. Operates riding lawn mower to cut
grass; checks oil and fuel before operation.
3. Empties trash containers.
4. Operates light power tools to perform
minor maintenance on buildings or equipment.
5. Paints benches, doors, trash
containers, and other assigned structures.
6. Unloads animal feed from trucks and
stores in appropriate location.
7. Notifies supervisor of equipment
maintenance or repairs needed or other unusual situations.
