JOB TITLE:  Fleet Services Delivery Driver

 

MAINTENANCE REVIEW DATE:  March 1999

JOB OBJECTIVE:  To perform general delivery duties, monitor the Fleet Motor Pool and  wash vehicles at Fleet Services.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Receives immediate supervision from the Service Coordinator I.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1.         Performs vehicle and parts pickup and delivery functions.

 

2.         Monitors the vehicles in the fleet pool for proper function, damage and usage; notifies supervisor of improperly functioning vehicles, damage and usage.

 

3.         Maintains an inventory of pool vehicles; notifies supervisor of vehicle pool availability and maintenance levels.

 

4.         Washes and vacuums Fleet vehicles.

 

5.         Keeps wash bay clean and in good working order.

 

6.         Performs minor maintenance, such as checking engine oil and coolant; notifies supervisor of problems requiring major repairs or maintenance.

 

7.         Ensures grounds are clean and free of trash and debris.

 

8.         Operates City vehicles in the performance of essential functions.

 

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Performs work of routine difficulty in performing general delivery duties, monitoring the Fleet Motor Pool, and washing vehicles at Fleet Services.

Good knowledge of driving safety rules and regulations.

 

Familiarity with simple vehicle maintenance procedures.

 

Skill in the operation of standard and automatic transmission automobiles.

 

Skill in completing and maintaining simple records.

 

Ability to understand and follow simple oral instructions.

 

Ability to work effectively with other employees.

 

Ability to maintain simple records.

 

Ability to note defects, damage, and wear in vehicle systems and automotive components.

 

Ability to read and write.

 

Ability to operate various types of light vehicles and equipment.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  At least one (1) year of general work experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

 

Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
