JOB TITLE: Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor
(Adult Center)

JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist the Recreation Center Supervisor
in the daily operation of the Recreation Center.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Receives general supervision from the
Recreation Center Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Schedules, assigns, and reviews the
work activities of full-time and part-time Recreation Center staff members;
compiles and submits employee payroll information to supervisor.
2. Meets with organizations interested in
adult recreation projects, to assist in planning and to provide information on
possible facility and equipment use.
3. Contacts outside organizations and
center participants to research and compile information regarding recreation
programs, submits information and program recommendations to supervisor;
schedules and implements programs upon approval.
4. Monitors the use of facilities and
equipment to ensure compliance with established Center policies and procedures;
reports discrepancies and incidents to supervisor.
5. Receives complaints and answers
questions from the public, participants and staff; investigates complaints and
notifies supervisor as appropriate.
6. Serves as Recreation Center Supervisor
during absences.
SECONDARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Utilizes a computer and hard copy files
to maintain Recreation Center records and reports.
2. Assigns Recreation Center supplies and
equipment to staff as needed.
3. Trains and instructs staff in the
proper facilitation of programs or activities; supervises implementation when
necessary.
4. Compiles Recreation Center program
revenue and expenditure information into daily, monthly, and quarterly reports;
submits information to supervisor for program evaluation.
5. Gathers data and assists in the
preparation and update of Recreation Center operation manuals as directed.

6. Maintains an inventory of supplies and
equipment; reports equipment failures and needed maintenance to supervisor and
ensures maintenance and/or repairs are requested and completed; orders supplies
when needed.
7. Prepares and submits advertising
proposals, news releases, brochures or program modifications for the attraction
of new program participants to supervisor; implements upon supervisor's
approval.
8. Performs
other related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides immediate supervision to full-time and
part-time/temporary Recreation Center employees, including Recreation Leaders,
Play Leaders, Custodial Workers and Instructors.
